Almost every aspect of life involves varying amounts of give and take.  We give time and take money.  We give money and take food.  

We give life and what we take in exchange for life is what we need to keep living.  Do we live to work or do we work to live?  

Greedy people have limited vision.  When someone only takes and resists giving, it damages the balance of fairness for everyone.  Not all exchanges are the same.  Not all negotiations seem fair.  

When negotiating, it’s good to consider that it’s fair when everyone can both give and take.

삶의 거의 모든 양상에는 다양한 주고받음이 수반된다. 우리는 시간을 제공하고 돈을 받는다.  우리는 돈을 주고 음식을 받는다. 

우리는 삶을 주고 그 대가로 우리가 받는 것은 삶을 살아가기 위해 필요한 것들이다. 우리는 일하기 위해 사는지 아니면 살기 위해 일을 할까?

욕심이 많은 사람들은 시야가 제한적이다. 누군가 받기만 하고 주기를 거부할 때, 모든 사람들의 공정성의 균형이 깨진다. 모든 주고받음이 같지는 않다. 모든 협상이 공정해 보이지는 않는다. 

협상을 할 때에는, 모두가 주고받을 수 있는 것이 공평하다는 점을 고려해보는 것이 좋다.
