Many people who practice English as a second language know that the word grand means great, large, etc.  In the world of money and numbers, grand has another definition.  

Grand is a noun and it means thousand. To say that you have ten grand in the bank is to say that there is ten thousand in your bank account.  

In reference to American dollars, ten grand is ten thousand American dollars, ($10,000.00).  In reference to Korean won, ten grand is ten thousand won, (\10,000).  

It would be nice to have five hundred grand (500,000) in either currency!

영어를 제 2 외국어로 연습하는 많은 사람들은 그랜드라는 단어가 웅장하고, 크다 등을 의미한다는 것을 알고 있다. 재산과 숫자의 세상에서 그랜드의 단어는 또 다른 의미를 가지고 있다. 

그랜드는 명사로 천을 의미한다. 은행에 10 그랜드를 가지고 있다고 말하는 것은 은행 계좌에 만 달러가 있다는 의미이다. 

미국 달러의 기준으로 10 그랜드는 $10,000.00이다. 한국 원화를 기준으로 10 그랜드는 만원이다. 

둘 중 어느 화폐로든 500,000가 있다면 좋을 것이다!
